a World Cup game. If you had told me he was killed for turning the game off, I wouldn’t be that suprised. But, beaten to death by his wife and kids for turning the game on and a religious program off? Seems like an “Own Goal” to me. I guess they really couldn’t stand the vuvuzelas.

The Ft. Smith Classic teed off yesterday but will it continue?
Newsweek’s interesting Best High Schools list came out with seven NWA high schools on it. HarBer leads the pack.
Fayetteville is moving forward with a business license registration proposal.
Springdale is looking to regulate ice cream trucks in the city. Health code issues and operator background checks are the major concerns.

Bentonville is looking to approve digital billboards. Yet another major difference between the Benton County seat and Fayetteville which does not allow billboards at all.
The Fayetteville Airport (FYV) is speaking with budget carriers to bring commercial flights back to the airport. FYV stopped commercial flights in 1999 after the opening of XNA. Now the airport leaders are looking to bring them back. Issues include bringing security up to post-9/11 standards and getting the city to approve.
It’s official. Mary Maestri’s is gone. After being shut down by the state for non-payment of taxes, the contents of the restaurant were sold at auction on Wednesday.
