Celebrity Celibacy

Posted by Jeff on April 13, 2010

Does anyone have any Clearasil?

Apparently celibacy (and talking about it) is the new hip thing among some top, young celebs.

It’s refreshing on one level to hope that this would actually inspire teens and tweens to just say no. But if you’ve ever seen Lady GaGa perform, well it makes this a little hard to buy.

By the way, you will be relieved to know that I have never heard of four people on this list. And while I have heard of Robert Pattinson, I could not pick him out of a crowd.  But someone must love them, right?

Blog Hawgs John Sterling/Suzyn Waldman Memorial “Bad Announcing Hall of Fame” (NSFW)

Posted by Adam Butler on April 13, 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new feature here at BlogHawgs.com–The John Sterling/Suzyn Waldman Memorial ‘Bad Announcing Hall of Fame”.  Yes, I know Sterling and Waldman are still alive.  No, (but for the atrocious accent) I am not suprised Waldman is a former Broadway actress.

The inaugural members? You guessed it. John Sterling and Suzyn Walman.  See exhibits 1 and 2 below. NSFW

President Obama Lining Up Supreme Candidates

Posted by Jeff on April 13, 2010

In the wake of Justice John Paul Stevens’ announcement that he is retiring President Obama is working on his list of candidates to replace the court’s longest serving active member.

Given the hard fight for health care, many think that Obama might try to name a moderate so as to make this battle a little easier. Frankly, considering the climate right now unless Obama nominates Clarence Thomas’ wife (reputedly more conservative than him (if that’s possible)) there will be a fight and maybe even a filibuster.

CoCo Gets New Show

Posted by Jeff on April 13, 2010

Great. Now that I have a job again, I'll have to shave.

Conan O’Brien has landed a new late night gig.  He is taking his show to TBS.  Ironically (and surprisingly unmentioned by anyone else yet) Conan is bumping George Lopez back an hour in order to get the prime spot of 10 p.m.  This is exactly what NBC wanted to do with Leno by bumping Conan back to 11:00 p.m. Weird.  It wasn’t OK for Leno but it is OK for Conan?
