More details about the 2.5 magnitude earthquake in Centerton. I was five miles east and didn’t feel a thing. Meanwhile people in Joplin (30+ miles north) and Fayetteville (25 miles south) are claiming they felt a rumbling. Y’all have Mexican for lunch or something?

San Andreas we ain't.
…And it had nothing to do with WalMart.
The USGS confirms that a 2.5 magnitude earthquake hit Benton County this morning. Reports had it lasting about one minute and sounding like explosions.
I’m OK by the way. I can sense that you were all very worried.

bid here. My only critique would be that the “6″ should have been moved flush to the right side so that if when he is moved to Tight End or H-back, an “8″ or a “3″ can be placed in front of the “6″.

After reading blog entries like this, I wonder where Low has been all my life.
Between his obsession with all things Ryan Mallett and Bobby Petrino, and his growing love for the Baum Squad, I think I have a man-crush on him.
Can I say that? I know you can get fired from a TV gig for saying it, but can I say it? Should I call it a Bromance, instead, or does he have to know how much I enjoy his work (and reciprocate) for it to be a Bromance?

"See? I'm no dummy."
Kinda surprised Adam didn’t post this one. I’m not sure where to start here. We could skewer him for bailing on us. We could wonder if maybe he was right to bail on us. We could wonder what it would take to get Pelphry to take the Creighton job so Mike Anderson could…
You decide. And discuss.
AB UPDATE: Jeff, I was going to post this, but couldn’t bring myself to do so after reading this about the Altman/Arkansas situation.
But three years back, Altman said yes to the Hogs, and then conducted a news conference, squirming when the Hogs did their unusual cheer and while his daughter, then in high school, cried just off-camera.
Altman said: “With your permission, I’d like to finish my career at the University of Arkansas.”
Then he stepped off the podium and was handed a manila envelope with bad news: Several players were ineligible, and several more had academic issues. Also, a couple had failed random drug tests.
That night, Altman went to dinner with the school’s chancellor, and the vibes weren’t good, and he came away with the distinct impression the athletic director wasn’t long for the job (turned out to be true).
When he returned to the hotel, Altman called his former boss and asked: “Can I have my job back?” And he went home.
Now, he’s coming here. And when you consider the circus that’s been operating inside Oregon’s athletic department, it’s understandable if anyone wants to wait until Altman has been in town a week or so — or until Creighton hires his replacement — before breathing easy.
It sorta fed this rant from me about the Pelphrey/Mike Anderson situation and made me want to scream considering the thinly-veiled jabs at Arkansas and the fact that we’ve heaped one solid, and two really bad seasons on top of the mess Altman ran from, along with a bunch of additional off-court problems, suspensions dismissals and defections.

I am suprised this is even news. I mean, the Texas Governor, Rick Perry (R) is strapped with a laser sighted .380 Rueger with hollow point bullets while he jogs outside the Austin city limits (the actual Austin city limits, not the awesome Music Festival) and he caps a coyote?
What’s the story, here? Sometimes a governor really has to protect himself from stray coyotes and dangerous pinko commie liberals, and such that want to “Keep Austin Weird”.
“I knew there were a lot of predators out there. You’ll hear a pack of coyotes. People are losing small cats and dogs all the time out there in that community,” Perry said.
“They’re very wily creatures.”
On this particular morning, Perry said, he was jogging without his security detail shortly after sunrise.
“I’m enjoying the run when something catches my eye and it’s this coyote. I know he knows I’m there. He never looks at me, he is laser-locked on that dog,” Perry said.
“I holler and the coyote stopped. I holler again. By this time I had taken my weapon out and charged it. It is now staring dead at me. Either me or the dog are in imminent danger. I did the appropriate thing and sent it to where coyotes go,” he said.
Perry said the laser-pointer helped make a quick, clean kill.
“It was not in a lot of pain,” he said. “It pretty much went down at that particular juncture.”
Perry later added:
“He became mulch.”

No, not that former Alaskan Beauty Queen and Celeb Wannabe (pictured left)–this former Alaskan Beauty Queen and Celeb Wannabe–Maryline Blackburn. (pictured right) She’s lives in Smyrna, Georgia (and has for almost 25 years) and is running for a seat in the Georgia House.
Singer and actress Maryline Blackburn of Smyrna, now a 24-year resident of the state, will announce Thursday that she’ll mount a Democratic challenge to Republican incumbent Rich Golick for his House seat.
Blackburn was Alaska’s first African-American representative to the Miss America beauty pageant. Palin, the future GOP vice presidential nominee, was a flute player from Wasilla. She was named Miss Congeniality.
Blackburn could neither confirm nor deny whether, if elected, her first order of business would be to buy a vowel for Smyrna. When reached for comment, GOP crush superstar Sarah Palin said she has heard of vowels, and reads ”most of them,” “all of ‘em,” and “any of ‘em.”

BlogHawgs Movie and Cult TV Series Correspondent James Rudolpho “Jim” Gooch thinks so.
Special to Bloghawgs from James R. Gooch
I don’t know if anyone else on the board watches “Lost,” but you should.
However, I forewarn you that there is no such thing as a casual fan of “Lost.” You will likely get hooked, find yourself contemplating its mysteries as you lay in your bed, jonesing like hell for Tuesday night to roll around.
Like the island, the show demands much of its viewers; you must watch carefully, for nothing is random. Miss one episode and you risk losing it all. And of course you have to start from the beginning, which is easy thanks to Netflix and OnDemand.
Rarely will you have as much fun with a television show. It’s without a doubt one of the most entertaining television shows of all time. I watch it religiously; I won’t make plans on Tuesday nights. It literally causes fights between me and my girlfriend.
And if you are like me, then you probably have your own theories about the island and its origins, about Jacob and the Man in Black, and about how it’s all going to end in just four short weeks. After months of scanning Lostpedia and other “Lost” websites full of cockeyed theories and predictions, I was very lucky to come across this gem. I think many of the theories proposed in this piece are likely spot on. Tell me if you agree.

First, Arkansas recently struck out with Ricardo Ratliffe–JUCO ALL-American, all our eggs in one basket, power forward and friend of Razorback Marshawn Powell.
Now, after scrambling looking elsewhere for help, they’ve been spurned by another recruit…….for prep school.
Ratliffe cast his lot with Mizzou and coach Mike Anderson–he of the “near-Razorback dynasty in the 90s building” Andersons.
You may remember Anderson. He’s the proven head coach who has all but announced he would return to Arkansas, if offered (something coaches with jobs NEVER allow their confidants so so publicly and specifically). Alas, Jeff Long isn’t interested in the past–only the future. A future filled with Delvon Johnson.
No worries, though.
Delvon averaged 2.6 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game in just over 13 minutes per game for the Hogs last season. And, prior to that at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, he averaged 6.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots.
I can hardly wait for the Delvon Johnson era to begin.

after 45 years in the Pen. This decision certainly invites controversy.
Hagan declined to comment Tuesday afternoon.”I really haven’t had any time to gather my thoughts on anything,” he said.
The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center, an organization founded by the civil rights leader’s late widow, hasn’t taken a position on Hagan’s parole, board chairman Zead Ramadan said.
“We just don’t think it’s ours to decide the fate of this man. We allowed the laws of this nation to develop that,” Ramadan said.
But another group, the Malcolm X Commemoration Committee, decried Hagan’s parole at a press conference earlier this month. The organization holds essay contests and other events in his memory.

Mmmm Chaps!
It could happen, particularly if the Big X (errrrrr 11) expands and sets off a chain reaction. Bring back the hate!
3) The SEC can afford to add Texas A&M this time around. If conference are going to 16 teams, the SEC would be able to add four and keep the natural rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M, and restore old rivalries with Arkansas from the Southwest Conference.

I dig it. Oh, and UA 3B Zach Cox is projected as the #6 overall pick in the upcoming MLB draft. That will make him a multi-millionaire.
