Congrats to the “White Rat”–Whitey Herzog

who got the call to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, today. He was voted in by the Veterans’ Committee. I am a lifelong Cardinals fan, and he was the manager of my youth. I guess Stl has had a decent run on managers…..Herzog, Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa–who will all be Hall of Famers one day.
My grandpa, who got me hooked on the Cardinals, thinks Whitey could manage circles around LaRussa. Ironically, he didn’t think Herzog was very good when he was managing the Cards….same for Torre and LaRussa.

Kansas? I’ve seen this movie before. I know how it ends–with a raise from Mississippi, a 2-year pass, and an additional round of glad-handing and “We Love Ya”s from his current employers.
