The home to most conservatives looking for cable news has once again been caught using outdated footage while promoting covering Sarah Palin. While the Caribou Killer has certainly been drawing sizable crowds, good ol’ Fox seems to be exaggerating the size just a bit.
Wednesday’s incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrettmentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout.
As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is “continuing to draw huge crowds while she’s promoting her brand-new book,” adding that the images being shown were “some of the pictures just coming in to us…. The lines earlier had formed this morning.”
However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally.

I love health care, y'all!
At what point do you just start laughing? Our senior Senator has not been the beacon of leadership many had hoped she would be in this health care debate. Rather than using her “swing vote” status as leverage to get things done, Sen. Lincoln continues to hide behind various excuses about whether or not she can even vote to allow debate. As it turns out, reading is one of those obstacles.
Lincoln spokeswoman Leah Vest said the senator “wants to read the bill first before making any decision” on how she will vote on a motion to proceed to debate.
“That’s the corner we’re in right now,” Vest said.
Meanwhile Sen. Pryor says he is ready for debate to begin. Also, being a clear thinking, rational human being, Sen. Pryor points out that voting to allow debate does not equal a vote for the bill.
The senator said he would vote to advance the measure to debate, but he emphasized that the vote would not be tantamount to supporting the initial version of the bill.
“Not the same,” Pryor replied when asked if voting to open debate was the same as supporting a public option. “We’re in a process … this bill could change quite a bit as it goes on the floor.”
I can get down with that. At least he’s not being an obstructionist. For all I know, when it’s said and done, the final bill may be a
bad one. We of course will never even get to find out if Sen. Lincoln continues her Hamlet impersonation.

Kansas Jayhawk head football coach Mark Mangino could coach his last football game for KU this weekend against Texas. Maybe they’ll keep him around for the season finale, but I seriously doubt it. Former players continue to pop up recounting hostile and demeaning treatment they received from the 450ish pound football coach.
On today’s Dan Patrick Show, Kansas City Star sportswriter Jason Whitlock suggested Mangino’s weight continues to work against him, too. According to Whitlock many within the Kansas administration worry the coach could die on the sideline. Looking at his picture, I see the concern.
I’ve already heard more than one person mention Gus Malzhan for this job.

I feel the worst for Wainwright, though. He was arguably the most deserving of the three, and had never won it before (Carpenter and Lincecum have).
