Headed Down a Bad Path
I must admit that I’m a bit surprised. Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin permanently dismissed two players, including Nu’Keese Richardson, for their alleged roles in an armed robbery last week in Knoxville. A third player, safety Janzen Jackson, remains suspended as the investigation continues into his possible role in the same incident.
Kiffin decided to do the right thing, which I must admit surprises the hell out of me.
“Clearly, their actions have no place in our program,” coach Lane Kiffin said Monday.
As you may remember, Richardson was the central figure in a recruiting war with Florida that led to Kiffin’s eventualy reprimand by the SEC for falsely accusing Urban Meyer of illegal recruiting tactics.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd I’m back. Here’s a public service announcement from good ol’ Uncle BK: Don’t get H1N1. More on that later…
As you can expect the top of the charts did not change much. TCU made up some ground on Florida in the points, but the Gators hold on to the #3 spot this week. It is hard to argue they should jump any of the other unbeatens, but TCU looked very good in beating a legit Top 20 team. Boise St. looked strong again, and Cincinnati just keeps on rollin’ along. It’ll never happen, but look for the calls to have a college football playoff to grow even louder this year. Now that important political states like Texas and Ohio are involved, you could actually see some movement from Congress if both TCU and Cincy end up unbeaten.

Pete Carroll is a Hypocrite’s Hypocrite.

Instead, Harbaugh went for a 2-point conversion and half a hundy (which he eventually got later). It seems Pete didn’t like it. Well, I say what goes around comes around.
You see, *I* didn’t really like that in 2006 at Razorback Stadium, Carroll decided to go for a first down by passing the ball on 4th and 4 from the Arkansas 20-yard line with just over 2 minutes left to play in a 30-point USC rout.
The result? The Trojans completed a 19-yard pass down to the Arkansas 1 yard line, and scored a touchdown on the next play to make the score ………drumroll………….50-14.
