Week Four was a little disappointing. I still ended up on the plus side (8-6), but I feel like I let you guys down. I should have known better than to pick Detroit on the road, and the Oakland pick is borderline inexecusable. I apologize.
“You will never see any handicapper in the entire country who will work harder than I will work the rest of the season. And you will not see someone push the rest of the gamblers as hard as I will push everybody for the rest of the season, and you will never see a handicapper pick smarter than I will the rest of the season.”
As always…. Don’t blame me if you end up selling plasma this week to keep from having your kneecaps busted.
CINCINNATI (+8.5) v. Baltimore
The win over Cleveland was not impressive, but Cincinnati showed more mental toughness than they have shown in years. Baltimore may still win, but I expect them to be smarting after the New England loss.
CLEVELAND (+6) v. Buffalo
Trent Edwards is awful. I suspect we are about to see T.O.’s first real meltdown. And getting rid of Edwards in Cleveland is addition by subtraction. Potential moneyline wager here
WASHINGTON (+4) v. Carolina
Two crappy teams in a game that no one will watch… I say take the points.
PITTSBURGH (-11.5) v. Detroit
Polamalu may be back this week. Stafford may not. Can you look me in the eye and say you’re confident with Culpepper — even starting out with 11.5 points? I didn’t think so.
Dallas v. KANSAS CITY (+8.5)
Could Dallas really be a 6-10 team this year? Their only 2 wins are against Tampa and Carolina, two winless teams.
Oakland v. NY GIANTS (-16)
I would honestly give 20 in this game and feel reasonably confident.
Tampa Bay v. PHILADELPHIA (-15.5)
See above.
Minnesota v. ST. LOUIS (+10.5)
Almost impossible for the Vikings to be ready for this one after last week’s emotional high and coming off a short week.
Atlanta v. SAN FRANCISCO (-2.5)
Vegas still does not believe in the Niners and still likes the Falcons too much.
Houston v. ARIZONA (-5.5)
I want to take Houston here, but they are completely untrustworthy right now.
New England v. DENVER (+3.5)
De-fense! De-fense!
Jacksonville v. SEATTLE (-1)
Welcome back, Mr. Hasselbeck.
INDIANAPOLIS (-3.5) v. Tennessee
When everyone out there says next week, “No one saw this Tennessee collapse coming,” you can yell back at the TV/radio — “That’s not true! BK saw it coming!”
NY JETS (-1.5) v. Miami
The most reckless pick of the week by me, I just love what Rex Ryan has done in New York.

Why Do I Let Sports Hurt Me So?
Posted by Adam Butler on October 9, 2009
Thanks to Matt Holliday, I am giving up sports, again (including fantasy sports). I am, however, starting an NPR fantasy league, and will be drafting Michele (Me Shell) Norris.
