The Hogs Doomed?

Posted by Brett Kincaid on September 15, 2009

AJC’s Mark Bradley thinks so.  He has 5 reasons why Georgia will roll Arkansas.

I figured Coach Petrino would catch hell from Georgia folks this week, but I had at least hoped for some orginality.

5. The game’s at night, and you-know-who likes to slip away under cover of darkness. There’s every chance Petrino could be coaching the Saskatchewan Rough Riders by the time the fourth quarter arrives Saturday. See the above photo for confirmation.

SEC Power Rankings

Posted by Brett Kincaid on September 15, 2009

Chris Low, the ESPN.com SEC blogger, has released his power rankings.  He is still high on the Hogs and agrees Saturday is crucial to the season.  The Razorbacks will either emerge as a true sleeper for the SEC West crown or once again fight to gain bowl eligibility.

5. Arkansas: The Hogs have been working on Georgia since before their first game, so this is one they ought to be ready for. Arkansas was off last week after blasting Missouri State 48-10. This looks to be one of the most explosive offensive teams in the league. But you really don’t know until the Hogs go up against an SEC defense. When you look at Arkansas’ road schedule, it’s easy to see why this is such a crucial game for the Hogs at home.

When the President calls you out, you know you’ve gone too far.  Now, to be fair, the comment was supposed to be off the record, but in today’s Twitter Age I suppose nothing really is.  An apology has already been issued.

“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”

Tom Brady returned last night and helped New England steal a remarkable victory away from Buffalo.

San Diego rallied to knock off a much better looking Oakland team.  Darren McFadden rushed for 68 yards on 17 carries.

Brian Urlacher’s season is over after surgery to repair a dislocated wrist.  Ouch

Juan Martin del Potro stunned Roger Federer in the men’s U.S. Open final last night, becoming the tallest player (6′ 6″) to ever win a grand slam title.

San Francisco smoked Colorado last night, cutting a game off the Rockies wild card lead.

St. Louis won….again.

I love when coaches say, “I don’t want to blame the officials, but…” after they lose a game.  Hey, Chuck, maybe you run the ball and force Michigan to use their timeouts.
