For you early risers, I’ll be on KTHV tomorrow morning to talk about the speech President Obama will deliver to students tomorrow.  Yes, I definitely think students should be shown this speech — although it’s so long I cannot imagine that any of them will pay attention.

But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world – and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities. Unless you show up to those schools; pay attention to those teachers; listen to your parents, grandparents and other adults; and put in the hard work it takes to succeed.

Sam Bradford’s status may not be clear for another week or two.  Rumors have the team circling the Baylor game as a possible return date.

Tony Barnhardt points out the obvious:  Georgia needs better play at quarterback.

The Lions will start Matthew Stafford in their first game this weekend.

San Diego Charger Shawn Merriman has a terrible Tequila hangover.  It just goes to show, you should always pay for the good stuff and not some cheap imitation of the real thing.

Plenty of day baseball today.  Follow all the action here.

While there have been plenty of upsets in the women’s draw, Roddick’s loss this weekend remains the biggest surprise on the men’s side this week at the U.S. Open.
