Here’s an interesting angle from Chris Bahn at ArkansasSports360.com on the never-ending debate over the location of Arkansas’ home football games.

So one game in Little Rock, one game in Dallas, why don’t we schedule one in KC against Missouri. We can become the Harlem Globetrotters. I am from South Arkansas(2hrs south of LR) and love going to Little Rock games but still believe we should play our home games at home.

I agree. I live in Little Rock, but I “vote against interest” on this. I think the games should be on campus. That said, I also understand the economics of why there are still games in Little Rock. We lose a lot of money at the gate, but gain of ton of money by having an absolute strangle hold on the state in terms of fan base, recruiting, $$, etc.
That monopoly would, at the very least, be comprimised if the Hogs were tucked away in NWA and didn’t have such a presence in LR. I know the folks in NWA REALLY don’t like to hear that (I used to be one of them) but the Hogs do benefit from playing here.

Leave games in Little Rock. There will be alot of fans who wont get to see games. Northwest Arkansas is a long drive and a big expence for a family gas, tickets, food, motel, family of four thats atleast a $500 weekend. That will leave some people out. Some of those people are just as big of fans as the people who can afford that trip or live close.
